Application Research on VR Technology to Construct High Definition Arthroscopy Platform in Orthopedics Clinical Teaching
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of virtual reality(VR)technology in teaching basic orthopedic surgical skills. Methods A total of 40 students from the 2020 clinical medicine undergraduate class of Shenzhen University Health Center from September 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the study objects and divided into experimental group and control group according to random number table method, with 20 students in each group. The high-definition arthroscopy platform teaching mode based on VR technology was used in the experimental group, while the the traditional teaching method was used in the control group. After that, the teaching effect was evaluated, and the standardized closed-book evaluation model and satisfaction questionnaire model were used to evaluate the teaching effect. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of excellent and good scores between two groups of exams(P>0.05).The total satisfaction rate of experimental group(100%)was higher than that of control group(70%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The findings of this study indicate that the integration of VR technology into orthopedic clinical teaching significantly enhances students'learning engagement and promotes their mastery of textbook knowledge.Furthermore,VR technology effectively overcomes the limitations of traditional instructional approaches, enabling medical education to be more efficient, precise, and immersive.Consequently, the innovative utilization of VR technology in medical education and training establishes a robust foundation for standardized orthopedic teaching and training.
