Application of Mini-CEX in Clinical Skills Competition Training and Its Impact on the Clinical Practice Ability of Medical Students
Objective To explore the effect of the mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)in the training of clinical skills competition training. Methods From January 2021 to June 2022,a total of 40 undergraduate interns from the Clinical Medical College of Ulanqab Central Hospital were selected as research subjects and divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 20 students in each group. The experimental group used the Mini-CEX method to complete clinical skills competition training, while the control group used traditional internship teaching methods to complete clinical skills competition training.Differences in the aspects of Mini-CEX scale before and after training between the two groups of students,as well as differences in practical skills and theoretical examination scores after training, were compared. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the aspects of Mini-CEX scale assessment scores between the two groups of students before training(P>0.05).After training, there was a statistically significant difference in the aspects of Mini-CEX scale assessment scores between the two groups of students(P<0.001).The theoretical scores, practical skills scores, and total scores of the experimental group after training were(22.77±3.04)points,(65.50±2.62)points,and(88.55±3.69)points,respectively,all of which were higher than those of the control group[(16.10±2.43)points,(47.20±4.86)points,and(63.30±5.24)points],with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion The application of Mini-CEX scale in the training of clinical skills competition training can better stimulate students'enthusiasm and initiative for learning and improve their comprehensive theoretical and practical abilities.
