Discussion on the Teaching Reform of the Scientific Research Design Based on Course Demands of Medical Undergraduates
Objective To understand the cognition of medical science research among undergraduate medical students and their demands for the Scientific Research Design course,in order to provide a reference basis for exploring more effective teaching models. Methods A total of 351 clinical medical undergraduates from Xuzhou Medical University were recruited in this study. The investigation was conducted through a self-designed questionnaire. Results A total of 334(95.2%)students who participated in the questionnaire recognized that it was significant to participate in scientific research during the undergraduate stage.A total of 332(94.6%)students were willing to spend some spare time participating in scientific research activities, among which 165(47.0%)students had already participated in scientific research projects of guiding teachers.Compared with students who did not participate in research projects, students who participated in research projects actively paid more attention to cutting-edge research trends(P<0.001).In terms of course demands,324(92.3%)students recognized that the Scientific Research Design course was helpful for the future study of undergraduate students.Among them,207(59.0%)and 78(22.2%)students considered that this course should be offered in their first or second year of university. The Scientific Research Design course stimulated the research interest of 82(23.4%)students,improving their enthusiasm for applying for research projects. Conclusion It is necessary to provide the course of Scientific Research Design during the undergraduate stage of medical students.By continuously reforming curriculum teaching methods, students'research interests and abilities can be continuously enhanced.
