Application of CBCT and Three-Dimensional Reconstruction Combined With CBL Teaching Method in Teaching of Endodontics
Objective To explore the application of case analysis of cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)and digital three-dimensional reconstruction combined with case-based learning(CBL)in endodontics. Methods A total of 84 undergraduates majoring in stomatology of Grade 2018 in Guizhou Medical University who studied endodontics from September 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the research subjects and were divided into case group(n=42,CBCT and digital three-dimensional reconstruction technology case analysis combined with CBL teaching method)and control group(n=42,traditional teaching mode). The overall test scores, the mastery of oral abnormal structure lesions and the satisfaction of teaching were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of theory test, practice test and case report test in the case group[(83.16±5.84)points,(83.53±2.51)points,(84.34±3.72)points]were higher than those in the control group[(80.09±5.72)points,(79.39±3.22)points,(81.24±2.95)points],and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Students in the case group had higher scores on the mastery of abnormal structural lesions of dental caries, tooth defect, pulpitis and periapical periodontitis than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores in the case group on classroom atmosphere, learning interest, knowledge mastery, autonomous learning,teacher-student interaction, literature review, communication and expression, clinical thinking, teamwork and learning objectives were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The case analysis of CBCT and digital 3D reconstruction technology combined with CBL can significantly improve students'mastery of oral abnormal structural lesions, improve teaching quality, and increase student satisfaction.
