Exploration on the Practical Application of Disease and Symptom Combined Teaching in Bladder Cancer Education
Objective To explore and analyze the practical application of disease and symptom combined teaching in bladder cancer education. Methods A total of 90 medical students from the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University who received bladder cancer education from May 2020 to March 2022 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group according to random number table method, with 45 students in each group.Conventional teaching method was adopted in the control group, and disease and symptom combined teaching was adopted in the observation group. The knowledge mastery scores, communication skills of medical students, and the satisfaction scores of teaching physicians were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical thinking ability score, health education score, clinical operation score, theoretical assessment score, and total score in the observation group were(20.54±2.02)points,(20.99±2.54)points,(19.32±2.61)points,(20.01±3.02)points,and(81.98±4.12)points respectively.Compared to the control group, the observation group had higher scores in clinical thinking ability, health education, clinical operation, theoretical assessment, and overall performance. The medical students in the observation group also showed significantly higher scores in work attitude, work ability, work discipline, and error rate compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).After teaching, the observation group showed significantly higher scores in basic verbal communication skills, basic non-verbal communication skills, motor communication skills, coordination communication network abilities, and total scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of disease and symptom combined teaching methods in bladder cancer education significantly improves teaching effectiveness.Medical students'communication skills are notably enhanced, and teaching physicians'satisfaction with the medical students'performance is higher.
