Application of Standardized Patients in Preoperative Visit Teaching of Anesthesia
Objective To explore the application effect of standardized patients in preoperative visit teaching of anesthesia. Methods Forty undergraduate interns in Anesthesiology at Inner Mongolia Medical University from September 2021 to September 2022 were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 20 students in each group.SP teaching and traditional teaching modes were used, respectively. After the teaching was completed, clinical skills assessment and questionnaire survey were conducted on both groups of students. Results The completeness of preoperative visit content[(43.12±4.54)points vs.(41.00±4.12)points],medical history collection skills[(17.56±3.66 vs.(15.36±3.12)points],doctor-patient communication skills[(18.32±4.15)points vs.(14.41±4.63)points],humanistic literacy scores[(11.22±5.23)points vs.(7.56±4.17)points],and total clinical skill assessment scores[(90.75±4.33)points vs.(80.35±6.13)points]of the experimental group students were all higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the experimental group students showed varying degrees of improvement in course interest, teaching satisfaction, and knowledge mastery, and also increased their confidence in clinical work, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of standardized patients in preoperative visit teaching of anesthesia is helpful for anesthesia students to master the content of preoperative visit knowledge more efficiently, improve clinical practice skills, and provide new ideas for the reform and innovation of anesthesia teaching mode.
