The Application Value of PBL and TBL Teaching Method in the Clinical Teaching of Gastrointestinal Surgery Practice
Objective To study the effectiveness of team-based teaching(TBL)and problem-based teaching(PBL)in the clinical teaching of gastrointestinal surgery.Methods A total of 46 interns practicing in the gastrointestinal surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of South Anhui Medical College from September 2019 to August 2020 were selected as the control group,and 46 interns practicing from September 2020 to August 2021 were selected as the observation group.The control group and the observation group adopted the traditional teaching method and PBL combined TBL teaching method respectively.After the course,the teaching effect,the excellent rate of theoretical evaluation scores,the scores of open questions and practical operation skills,the comprehensive evaluation and satisfaction rate were compared.Results The compliance rates of various items of teaching effects in the observation group were all higher than those in the control group.The scores of open-ended questions[(36.54±4.66)points vs.(24.75±6.57)points]and practical skills[(88.63±5.35)points vs.(75.44±5.27)points]in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The scores of all parts of the comprehensive assessment in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of the observation group(95.65%)was higher than that of the control group(78.26%),and the difference was statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Using the method of PBL and TBL teaching in the clinical teaching of gastrointestinal surgery can help to improve the teaching effect,improve the excellent rate of theoretical evaluation,the score of open test questions and practical operation skills,the comprehensive evaluation,and improve the satisfaction rate of interns.
