Application of Mind Mapping in the Teaching of Clinical Internships in Department of Hematology
Objective To explore the application effect of mind mapping in the teaching of clinical internships in department of hematology. Methods A total of 80 students who underwent clinical internships at the department of hematology of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from March to May 2023 were selected for teaching research. They were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 40 students in each group. Two groups of students were taught"multiple myeloma",the observation group was taught with mind mapping, and the control group was taught with traditional teaching. After the class, the two groups were given a theoretical examination and a questionnaire survey, which involved five aspects, such as enhancing learning self-awareness,increasing learning efficiency, deepening theoretical cognition, cultivating clinical thinking ability, and improving problem-solving ability. Results The average theoretical exam score of the observation group was(90.38±2.50)points,which was higher than(86.65±2.28)points of the the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the enhancing learning self-awareness,increasing learning efficiency, deepening theoretical cognition, cultivating clinical thinking ability, and improving problem-solving ability, students in the observation group believed that mind mapping was superior to the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion In the teaching of clinical internships in department of hematology, the application of mind mapping method can improve students'theoretical performance, improve their thinking ability, and contribute to the improvement of teaching quality.
