Analysis of the Current Status of Teaching Base Construction for Clinical Medicine Majors in Higher Vocational Colleges Under the Background of Medical-Educational Collaboration
Objective To analyse the current situation of practice teaching base construction of clinical medicine specialty in higher vocational specialties under the background of medical education synergy,and provide reference suggestions for improving the quality of medical talent cultivation.Methods A total of 6 provinces from the eastern,central,and western regions were selected as the research objects using systematic sampling method,with 41 higher vocational colleges involved.A self-compiled questionnaire was used to investigate the enrollment situation of clinical medicine majors,the current status of clinical practice teaching bases,and the distribution of interns from September 2020 to September 2022.Results The overall enrollment of higher vocational clinical medicine programs showed a yearly decreasing trend,with a decrease of 21.1%in 2022 compared with 2020.Shandong Province was the most significant,with a decrease of 37.5%.There were imbalances in the construction of clinical practice teaching bases.Tertiary hospitals accounted for a relatively high proportion as teaching hospitals,accounting for 51.8%.Internship hospitals,as the primary clinical teaching bases,undertake 61.7%of the clinical internship tasks of interns.While 29 colleges had affiliated hospitals,only 5 of them had full control over the personnel,finances,and resources of their affiliated hospitals.Conclusion The main issues in the construction of clinical practice teaching bases for higher vocational clinical medicine programs include imperfect talent supply-demand balance mechanisms,inadequate allocation of affiliated hospitals and weak clinical practice teaching.This study provides constructive suggestions for future reforms in clinical practice teaching,emphasizing the importance of combining medical-education collaboration with industry needs and standardizing the construction of clinical teaching bases.
