The Influence of Social Practice on Cultivating the Ideological and Political Literacy of Medical Students Specializing in Anesthesiology
Objective To explore the influence of social practice on the ideological and political literacy of undergraduate anesthesiology students.Methods A total of 131 medical students majoring in anesthesiology majoring in grade 2020 and 2021 from July 2022 to July 2023 of Guangzhou Medical University were selected as research subjects,and a questionnaire survey was used to compare the evaluation of self-knowledge,social responsibility and concern for vulnerable groups,the purpose and harvest of participating in social practice,the cultivation of humanistic and professional ethics,the reflection and improvement of professional practice ability and innovative thinking.Results The overall number of social practices in the class of 2020 was higher than that of the medical students of the class of 2021,59.83%(70/117)of medical students believed that they had good interpersonal skills,55.56%(65/117)believed that it was necessary to participate in social practice,85.47%(100/117)of the participants in social practice tended to be"interested in",88.89%(104/117)were willing to choose"closely related to their major",87.18%(102/117)agreed that through social practice,they cultivated compassion and sense of responsibility for patients,92.31%(108/117)were"willing to participate in community service or public welfare,94.87%(111/117)believed that social practice played an important role in cultivating good professional values and professional image.The medical students of grade 2020 had a higher understanding of clinical anesthesia related knowledge than the medical students of grade 2021 in physical examination,use of intra-spinal drugs,indications and contraindications of intra-spinal anesthesia,selection of puncture points,a sign of decency corresponding to a spinal nerve block,complications related to intra-spinal anesthesia,cervical plexus nerve,postoperative drinking and fasting time,etc.,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The social practice of medical students is of great significance for cultivating outstanding medical talents.Through participating in social practice,medical students can exercise their abilities,improve their own quality and moral accomplishment,guide students to think about future medical development,and strive to cultivate medical talents with the characteristics of contemporary social development.
