The cultivation of advanced trainees is a crucial component of continuing medical education. With the rapid development of the clinical nutrition field in recent years, there is an increasing demand for the training of advanced trainees. However, traditional continuing education models often struggle to meet the personalized and diverse learning needs of advanced trainees. The department of nutrition at the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University has implemented a mentorship model based on the needs of the trainees in clinical nutrition continuing education. This article describes and explores the specific implementation process and effectiveness evaluation of this model, aiming to provide some reference and insight for the reform and improvement of clinical nutrition continuing education. Results has shown that the mentorship model may stimulate the enthusiasm of advanced trainees for learning, improve the quality and level of advanced training, and enhance the effectiveness of continuing education through a"mentor output-trainee feedback"mechanism. However, the implementation of this model requires careful consideration of the cooperation and interaction between trainees and mentors,as well as the full utilization and rational allocation of educational resources. In summary, the mentorship model may have significant advantages and potential in clinical nutrition continuing education.
