Study on the Application Effect of CBL Combined With PBL Teaching Method in the Teaching Reform of Infectious Diseases
Objective To observe the effect of implementing case-based learning(CBL)combined with problem-based learning(PBL)teaching method in the teaching of infectious diseases.Methods A total of 200 students in department of infectious diseases,Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University from May 2022 to May 2023 were randomly divided into CBL group(using CBL teaching method)and CBL+PBL(using CBL combined with PBL teaching method)group,with 100 students in each group,and satisfaction with teaching,performance assessment,and results of the questionnaire survey were compared between two groups.Results The satisfaction rates of CBL+PBL group in terms of interest,comprehension and memory,thinking inspiration,and innovative thinking were 92%,94%,95%,and 93%,respectively,which were significantly higher than those of CBL group.In terms of performance evaluation,the basic knowledge score,case analysis score and total score were(59.34±5.86)points,(23.56±2.81)points and(82.34±6.98)points,respectively in CBL+PBL group,which were higher than those of the CBL group.The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the CBL+PBL group had higher evaluations than the CBL group in terms of participation enthusiasm and interactivity,novelty of teaching methods,improvement of infectious disease management and diagnosis skills,creative thinking,and problem-solving abilities,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The students have higher acceptance level to the implementation of the CBL combined with PBL teaching method in the teaching of infectious diseases,and the teaching effect are also further improved.
