Application of Mini-CEX Combined With Standardized Patients in Clinical Teaching of Neurology
Objective To explore the application effect of Mini-CEX combined with standardized patients in clinical teaching of neurology.Methods A total of 60 undergraduate medical students who practiced in the department of neurology from Rizhao Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2020 to October 2022 were selected as the research objects.Random numbers were generated using a random number table,with odd numbers assigned to the SP teaching group(standardized patient teaching group)and even numbers assigned to the control group(traditional teaching group),with 30 students in each group.The standardized patient teaching method and traditional teaching method were used for clinical practice teaching.Mini-CEX was used to evaluate the graduation scores of the two groups of interns.At the end of the internship,the internship satisfaction questionnaire was used to evaluate.Results Compared with the control group,the interns in the SP teaching group showed significant improvement in all aspects of Mini-CEX scores,there was statistical significance in all scores(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the satisfaction level of interns in the SP teaching group with clinical teaching had improved(100%vs.80%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparison of clinical skill self-assessment of total increase between the two groups of interns showed that the SP teaching group was significantly better than the control group(96.67%vs.70.00%),with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Mini-CEX combined with standardized patients teaching method can better enhance the clinical practice ability of interns in neurology,and more intuitively evaluate the clinical teaching effectiveness of interns,and improve teaching satisfaction.
