Application of Teamwork Model Based on Mini-CEX Evaluation in Teaching of Rehabilitation Therapy
Objective To explore the effect of teamwork teaching model based on mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)in clinical teaching of rehabilitation therapy.Methods From June 2021 to May 2022,a total of 79 interns majoring in rehabilitation therapy in the department of rehabilitation medicine,the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group(n=40)and a control group(n=39).The experimental group adopted the Teamwork teaching mode,and the control group adopted the conventional clinical teaching mode.After the internship,the scores of entrance examination(theory and practical test),Mini-CEX assessment(clinical judgment,physical examination skills,humanistic qualities/professionalism,medical interviewing skills,counseling skills,organization efficiency,overall clinical competence)and learning feedback questionnaire(learning interest,knowledge mastery,clinical thinking,teamwork ability and teaching method satisfaction)were evaluated between the two groups.Results In terms of entrance examination,the practical test score of the experimental group was(85.01±2.67)points,which was higher than that of the control group[(80.84±3.51)points](P<0.05).In the Mini-CEX assessment,the scores of the experimental group in the aspects of humanistic qualities/professionalism,medical interviewing skills,counseling skills,organization efficiency and overall clinical competence were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).In terms of students'learning feedback evaluation,the experimental group scored in clinical thinking was(4.48±0.51)points,teamwork ability was(4.55±0.50)points and teaching method satisfaction was(4.28±0.71)points,were better than the control group[(3.49±0.79)points,(3.46±0.68)points,(3.54±0.75)points],and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of teamwork teaching based on Mini-CEX can significantly improve the students'clinical practice,communication and cooperation ability as well as clinical thinking.
