Higher medical education should be able to cultivate medical professionals who possess both technical skills and humanistic qualities, aligning with the needs of society. However, the current highly specialized classification within medical education in China restricts the cultivation of medical talents.Traditional Chinese thought emphasizes a holistic approach to knowledge, and integrating this holistic view into the ideological and political education of medical schools can not only address the limitations of over-specialization in Western medicine but also help in training the medical professionals needed for China's new era. Therefore, this paper first explains the theoretical connection between the holistic view in traditional Chinese thought and medicine, aiming to clarify the ideological and academic foundation for integrating this perspective into the ideological and political education of medical schools. Then, through the observation and analysis of relevant real-world conditions,it demonstrates the practical necessity and urgency of transforming the aforementioned theory into practice. Finally,it turns theory into practice and explores the feasibility of applying the holistic view of traditional Chinese thought in the ideological and political education of medical schools.Through this exploration, the paper seeks to establish a model for ideological and political education in medical schools that reflects the characteristics of Chinese modernization.
