Application of Scenario Simulation Teaching Combined With PBL Teaching Method in the Standardized Training of Internal Medicine Residents
Objective To investigate the efficacy of scenario simulation teaching combined with problem-based learning(PBL)in the standardized training of internal medicine residents. Methods A total of 48 physicians who received training in the Internal Medicine and Residential Training Base of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University from January 2023 to May 2024 were randomly assigned, with 24 physicians in the experimental group and 24 in the control group. The experimental group was taught with scenario simulation teaching combined with PBL teaching method, while the control group was taught with traditional teaching method. The results of theory, clinical practice, teaching methods and teaching satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The theoretical scores and clinical practice operation scores of the resident physicians in the experimental group were(86.23±7.04)points and(85.83±6.96)points,respectively,while those in the control group were(80.33±7.41)points and(80.38±7.56)points,respectively.The scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The evaluation of the resident physicians in the experimental group for teaching content, teaching pace, teaching methods, teaching explanation,teacher-student interaction, and doctor-patient communication were(8.00±0.26)points,(8.30±0.68)points,(8.00±0.94)points,(7.90±0.88)points,(8.70±0.42)points,and(8.50±0.71)points,respectively,all of which were higher than those of the control group, which were(7.10±0.88)points,(7.30±1.06)points,(7.10±0.78)points,(7.30±0.86)points,(7.75±0.64)points,and(7.20±0.79)points,respectively,there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The teaching satisfaction rate of the resident physicians in the experimental group was 100%,which was superior to the 75.00%of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The scenario simulation teaching combined with PBL teaching method can effectively enhance the theoretical knowledge of resident physicians, improve practical skills, and is highly recognized by students.
