Application of PBL Teaching Method in Sterile Technology Training for Operating Room Nursing Interns
Objective To explore the application value of problem-based learning(PBL)in the training of aseptic technique for nursing interns in operating room. Methods A total of 94 cases of nursing students who practiced in the operating room of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the study objects, and were randomly divided into the control group or the experimental group with 47 students in each group. The control group was trained in aseptic techniques with traditional teaching methods, while the experimental group was trained with problem-based learning in addition to the conventional teaching methods. The results of aseptic nursing related theoretical knowledge, operational skills and their satisfaction with training methods were compared between the two groups. Results The theoretical knowledge[(89.26±5.92)points]and practical skill test scores[(85.47±5.35)points]of experimental group were higher than those of control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).In the experimental group, the nursing students'perception of learning[(35.91±3.15)points],teacher perception[(29.98±3.13)points]academic self-perception[(22.79±2.87)points],learning atmosphere perception[(31.64±3.21)points]and team cooperation perception score[(18.68±2.83)points]were higher than control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing PBL teaching methods in sterile technology training for operating room nursing interns can improve training effectiveness, better promote nursing students to establish sterile operation concepts and behaviors, and is worth further in-depth research.
