Oral anatomy and physiology,as an important foundational course in dentistry,covers the anatomical structures and physiological functions of various parts,including teeth,craniofacial,and neck regions,is closely related to various clinical specialties.Virtual simulation technology,as a novel teaching method,effectively combines computer-based virtual teaching with the tangible aspects of oral anatomy and physiology.This article introduces the characteristics of virtual simulation technology and its necessity in the field of oral anatomy and physiology,based on its usage in teaching.Finally,it summarizes the research progress in the application of virtual simulation technology in oral anatomy and physiology education,discussing its potential to enhance teaching methods,diversify course development,and ultimately improve the effectiveness of oral anatomy and physiology education.
