Exploration on the BOPPPS Teaching Mode Under the OBE Concept in the Practice Teaching of Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound Diagnosis
Objective To explore the effect of bridge-in,objective,pre-assessment,participatory,post-assess,summary(BOPPPS)teaching mode under the outcome-based education(OBE)concept in the practice teaching of obstetrics and gynecology ultrasound.Methods A total of 60 clinical undergraduates practicing in the ultrasound department of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University from March to August 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 30 undergraduates in each group.The observation group was taught with BOPPPS teaching mode under the OBE concept for learning,while the control group was taught with conventional teaching mode.After the teaching,two groups of students were tested to compare their performance in the internship assessment,and used a survey questionnaire to evaluate the satisfaction and teaching effectiveness.Results The scores of the observation group in the pre-study quiz[(30.97±3.85)points],the in-class test[(49.27±5.82)points]and the exit exam[(16.03±2.46)points]were higher than those of the control group[(25.75±4.62)points,(39.97±4.56)points,(11.87±3.41)points],the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).According to the questionnaire survey results,the total satisfaction of the observation group(93.33%)was higher than that of the control group(66.67%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of the observation group in learning interest,autonomous learning ability,class participation,clinical thinking ability,operation and communication ability were higher than those of the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.001).Conclusion The application of BOPPPS teaching mode under the OBE concept in the internship teaching of ultrasound diagnosis obstetrics and gynecology chapter can fully mobilize students'learning enthusiasm,improve academic performance,enhance teaching satisfaction,and achieve significant teaching results.
