Research on the Application of Multiple Teaching Mode Based on OBE Concept in Pediatric Clinical Teaching
Objective To explore the application effect of multiple teaching mode based on outcome-based education(OBE)concept combined with case-based learning(CBL),problem-based learning(PBL)and simulation teaching in pediatric medicine clinical teaching.Methods A total of 38 5-year medical students and a total of 38 8-year medical students with clinical practice in the pediatrics department of the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from February 2021 to July 2023 were chose as the research objects.They were divided into control group(n=38)and research group(n=38)by odd-even number method.The control group was taught with traditional teaching mode,while the research group was taught with CBL teaching method,PBL teaching method and simulation teaching mode based on OBE concept.The results of the two groups'theoretical knowledge and clinical practice ability were compared,and the results were evaluated by questionnaire survey.Results Compared with the control group,the students in the research group had higher scores in the theoretical knowledge test and clinical practice ability test,and the differences were statistically significant[(37.34±1.45)points vs.(36.19±1.87)points,P<0.05;(56.67±1.82)points vs.(53.08±2.89)points,P<0.001].Compared with the control group,the students in the research group thought that their ability to solve practical problems,understanding and memory of knowledge points,teamwork ability,and ability to deal with emergency and severe diseases(psychological quality)were improved,and the students in the research group thought that the course design was more reasonable,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions The multiple teaching mode based on OBE concept provides a beneficial discussion for the reform of clinical teaching mode of pediatrics in the new era,provides a theoretical basis and beneficial reference for training pediatric talents,and improves the teaching effect.
