Application of Situational Simulation Teaching Method in Nursing Practice of Urology
Objective To observe the application effect of situational simulation teaching on self-directed learning ability and practical performance of nursing interns in urology.Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 138 nursing interns in the urology department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2021 to June 2023.They were divided into a control group(n=69)and a simulation group(n=69)based on different teaching methods.The control group was taught with conventional teaching method,while the simulation group was taught with scenario simulation teaching method.The two groups were compared in terms of practical performance,communication skills,self-directed learning ability,critical thinking ability,and student satisfaction with teaching methods.Results After teaching,the positive attitude score of the simulation group[(53.89±3.79)points]was higher than that of the control group[(46.37±3.45)points],and the negative attitude score[(21.96±3.16)points]was lower than that of the control group[(27.28±3.57)points],with statistical significance(P<0.001).After teaching,the scores of self-directed learning ability and critical thinking ability of the simulation group[(55.87±3.50)points,(336.57±14.72)points]were higher than those of the control group[(48.62±3.43)points,(292.95±15.83)points],and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).The scores of practical operation performance[(90.65±5.57)points]and satisfaction with teaching methods(100%)in the simulation group were higher than those in the control group[(85.49±6.25)points and(78.26%)],respectively,with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion Scenario simulation teaching in urology nursing internship teaching can improve practical performance,enhance self-directed learning,critical thinking,and communication skills,and increase satisfaction with teaching methods.
