Application of CBL Teaching Method Combined With Tutor System in Standardized Training of Gastrointestinal Surgery Residents
Objective To explore the training effect of case-based learning(CBL)combined with tutor system in the standardized training of gastrointestinal surgery residents. Methods A total of 64 resident trainees who rotate in the department of gastrointestinal surgery of Union Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology from August 2021 to July 2022 were selected and divided into control group(n=31)and research group(n=33)according to the time period(August 2021 to December 2021 and January 2022 to July 2022).The control group was taught with traditional training mode, while the study group was taught with CBL teaching method combined with tutor system. After the training, the teaching effect of the two groups was analyzed and evaluated. Results The scores of theoretical basis, case analysis and clinical skills of the research group[(86.75±5.48)points,(83.82±6.27)points,(88.64±5.53)points]were higher than those of the control group[(80.24±6.81)points,(74.57±7.73)points,(78.83±4.46)points].The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the scores of the research group in improving self-motivation,promoting systematization of theoretical knowledge, increasing communication skills between doctors and patients, cultivating teamwork ability, enhancing professional ethics of doctors, improving humanistic care level, and teaching satisfaction[(8.43±1.52)points,(8.08±1.35)points,(8.17±2.12)points,(7.68±0.97)points,(8.32±1.57)points,(8.53±1.58)points,(9.02±2.26)points]were all higher than those of the control group[(5.53±0.94)points,(5.53±0.94)points,(6.73±1.42)points,(6.82±1.21)points,(7.02±1.16)points,(6.62±0.85)points,(6.62±0.85)points],with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion CBL teaching method combined with tutor system can improve the training effect of standardized training, comprehensive clinical ability, critical thinking ability, and teaching satisfaction for gastrointestinal surgery residents.
