Application of BOPPPS Teaching Model in the Practical Teaching of Dentistry and Endodontics
Objective To explore the application of the bridge-in,objective,pre-assessment,participatory learning,post-assessment,summary(BOPPPS)teaching model in the clerkship teaching of oral endodontics.Methods A total of 92 oral medical interns of endodontics in Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from September 2021 to January 2023 were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,a total of 46 students in each group.BOPPPS teaching model was used in the experimental group and traditional teaching method was used in the control group.After the internship,in-class theoretical examinations and questionnaire surveys were conducted on students to compare the teaching effects and satisfaction of the two teaching methods.Results The average score of test group was(83.59±4.60)points,which was higher than that of control group[(81.02±5.55)points],and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of students'subjective evaluation of teaching methods,the number of students with positive attitude in experimental group was higher than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion BOPPPS teaching model can significantly improve the learning performance and initiative of oral medical interns in endodontics,better achieve the course goals,and students have a high degree of recognition of this teaching model.
