摘要
《洗冤集录》系统地总结了我国古代法医理论和司法检验实践,首开中华民族古代科技文化史之滥觞,是世界法医学的开篇之作.本文以《洗冤集录》两个影响较大的英译本为研究对象,结合具体实例,梳理其中代表性术语词句的英译方法,提出在英语语境中完全空缺和部分空缺的中国古代法医学术语应有针对地使用异化、直译、音译和多模态注释的翻译方法,以彰显中国文化底蕴,为中国法医学文明的国际传承与传播提供启示与借鉴.
Abstract
"The Washing away of Wrongs:Forensic Medicine in Thirteenth-century China"is a comprehensive summary of the theories and practices of forensic medicine in thirteenth-century China.This work holds signifi-cant historical value as it is the first exploration of the history of science and technology in ancient China and e-ven in the world.This paper focuses on two influential English translations of this classic and utilizes specific ex-amples to examine the translation methods employed for representative terminology.The author suggests that ancient Chinese forensic terms,which may be completely or partially absent in the English language,should be translated using methods such as foreignization,literal translation,transliteration,and multi-modal annotation.This approach aims to emphasize the cultural heritage of China and provide inspiration and reference for the in-ternational preservation and dissemination of Chinese forensic civilization.
