《黄帝内经》"五音"的英译考辨

摘要
历代医家对"五音"的注解较为零散,对"五音"之音为何也鲜有明确的界定,这给对外翻译中医"五音"相关术语带来一定困难.本文以经文考释和训字为视角,对四个《黄帝内经》英译本中"五音"术语的译法进行深入考辨,认为以tone译"五音"之音更符合五音疗疾中"音"的所指.中医"五音"英译不仅要忠实传译"五音"之音的所指,还需向目标语读者准确诠释"五音疗疾"的医理.
Abstract
The annotations of ancient medical scholars on Wu Yin are relatively scattered,and there is rarely a clear definition of the sounds of Wu Yin,which poses certain difficulties in translating the related terms of Wu Yin in Traditional Chinese Medicine.This paper combines source text interpretation and character analysis to probe into the translation of Wu Yin-related terminologies in four English translations of Huang Di Nei Jing,pointing out that translating the sound of Wu Yin as"tone"is more in line with its referent.The English transla-tion of Wu Yin in Traditional Chinese Medicine needs not only to faithfully convey the referent of the sound of Wu Yin,but also to accurately interpret the medical theory of Wu Yin therapy to target readers.
