The Linguistic Features and C-E Translation Strategies of Software Localization—Taking the Smart Product Software as an Example
The Chinese-English translation in localization of domestic smart products has a bearing on qualities and sales,overseas users experience,and even images of Chinese enterprises and the nation.Starting from language fea-tures and combining with the author's translation practice,this paper takes the localization text of a domestic soft-ware as examples,discusses the contextualization,fragmentation,dissemination and interactivity of Chinese texts in translation,and summarizes four C-E translation strategies:idiomaticity,paraphrasing,simplification and grammati-cal usage.It is hoped that this study will help to improve the quality of domestic localization translation.
