Western travelers, merchants and missionaries in the Chinese Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties star-ted their non-native language writings about traditional Chinese architecture in languages other than Chinese, and foreign Sinologists and experts on science and technology continued the same type of writings since the 20th century, thus helping to promote the going-global of traditional Chinese architecture.Based on a case study of The Walls and Gates of Peking, this paper intends to probe into the textless back translation methods of non-n-ative language writing methods of traditional Chinese architecture. The research findings are as follows:the translator of the above-mentioned non-native language writing employs such translation methods as compensation by integration, compensation by isolation, cultural conservation, cultural substitution and multi-modal transla-tion when rendering The Walls and Gates of Peking back into the Chinese language. It is hoped that this research can promote the translation of traditional Chinese architecture for international communication.
