Measurement and Comparative Study of Competitive Advantages of New Energy Vehicle Industry in China, the United States,Japan and Korea——Take Lithium Battery Vehicles as an Example
Based on the patent data of China, the United States,Japan and Korea in the field of lithium battery automobile in the past 30 years, this paper selects 20 key indicators to build a TEL model and classify the key core patents, based on which the boom com-posite index method is applied to calculate the competitive advantage index of the four countries in the lithium battery automobile indus-try and compare and analyze them. The results show that the overall development layout of China, the United States,Japan and Korea in the field of lithium battery vehicles has basically reached its peak and has shown a fluctuating downward trend in the past two years.Overall, the U.S.has the earliest competitive advantage and the most stable index development trend, ranking first for many years.China has the latest competitive advantage, but the index development speed is the fastest, and by the end of 2021,China's o-verall competitive advantage index is equal to that of the U.S.,far exceeding that of Japan and South Korea.By dimension,China and the United States have absolute competitive advantages in economic and technological dimensions respectively;South Korea has a more stable development in economic and legal dimensions, but the technological dimension affects the whole, prompting a fluctuating down-ward trend.Japan,on the other hand, shows a significant downward trend in all dimensions, with a smaller decline only in the techno-logical dimension. It is concluded that China's economy has driven the overall situation, and China has basically achieved technological catch-up in the lithium battery automobile industry, but the development of the technological dimension is the basis for gaining sustain-able competitive advantage, and China needs to maintain its existing competitive advantage in the lithium battery automobile field while focusing on the leap and change of relevant technological tracks to gain sustainable competitive advantage in the new energy automobile industry.
