Quantification of humidity effect in ultrasonic testing of simply supported concrete I-beams
In order to analyze the influences of humidity on ultrasonic testing results of concrete beams, ultrasonic tests of concrete I-beams under indoor natural environment were designed.Test signals and corresponding humidity were collected, and the deflection angle among signal vectors was used as the evaluation index of signal volatility to reflect the influence of humidity on ultrasonic sig-nals.The residual matrix of the signal was constructed for singular value decomposition, the humidity effect in the left singular vec-tor was extracted for quantitative analysis, and the humidity effect was removed by removing the projection of the signal on the left singular vector. The results show that time shifting and amplitude change occurs in the waveform of ultrasonic test signal due to the influence of humidity. The higher the humidity effect component, the smaller the proportion in the total humidity effect. After removing the first 5 total humidity effects, the mean signal volatility can be reduced to 2%of the original one.
