Casing running investigation on ultra-deep and extended reach wells in an oilfield in Enping
In order to solve the problems of long open hole section, large stable angle, high frictional resistance and difficulty in ensuring centering in an ultra-deep and extended reach wells in an oilfield in Enping,a casing centering analysis and simulation was conducted on a ultra deep and large displacement well in the oilfield aiming at safe casing insertion. The centering degree of the casing was studied under different types of stabilizers and placement methods. The results show that when one rigid stabilizer is placed on one casing, the centering degree reaches 78%,which can ensure a good centering effect of the casing.Meanwhile, conventional cas-ing,floating casing, and rotating fully floating casing were simulated separately.A comparative analysis was conducted on the casing insertion performance using different casing insertion techniques, including the length of the floating section of the casing, hook load, friction, and effective stress of the casing. The research results indicate that when floating casing technology is used to run the cas-ing,the length of the floating section is selected as 4 600 m,which means the floating collar is placed at a position of 3 500 m.When the rotating full floating casing technology is applied, the recommended speed is 10 r/min.Both casing-running techniques can ensure smooth casing insertion. At this time, the frictional resistance during casing running is small, which greatly increases the hanging weight of the casing and reducing the risk of buckling of the casing string.
