Study on shear thinning of polymer solution in near wellbore zone of perforation completion
The effects of different factors on the shear thinning of polymer solution was studied based on the equivalent control body physical model to determine the shear viscosity reduction rule of polymer solution near perforation completion.Specifically, factors such as the injection intensity, the polymer solution concentration, the polymer molecular weight and the seepage distance were stud-ied.The experimental results show that the dimensionless apparent viscosity(the ratio of measured value to initial value)decreases logarithmically with the increase of seepage distance. When the polymer solution flows through the near wellbore zone of the perfora-tion completion, the viscosity loss occurs mainly near the perforation wall.Through fitting of experimental data, the relation formula between dimensionless apparent viscosity and flow in porous media distance was achieved, which can reflect the objective law truly. It is revealed that the viscosity loss of polymer solution caused by shear degradation is determined by the energy loss(pressure drop)in the process of flow in porous media. The fitting equation can also be employed in the prediction of the polymer solution viscosity under shearing in the distant reservoir.
