Expansion of the leading function of academic journals and its operation approaches:A case study of the transformation of case research in the Journal of Public Management
[Purposes]Academic journals serve as crucial carriers and compasses for the prosperity of national science and technology.Innovating the operation approaches of academic journals empowers their functional positioning,thereby facilitating the rapid development of disciplines.Existing studies have been limited to defining the leading function of academic journals within the context of their dissemination function,thus neglecting the independent agency of academic journals within the academic community and failing to address their proactive role in exercising academic leadership.[Methods]This research,from the perspective of journal operations,described the practical cases of the transformation of case research in the Journal of Public Management in the field of public administration.[Findings]It reveals the internal and external influencing factors and causal mechanisms of the leadership function of academic journals,explores various operation approaches based on the strength of exerting academic leadership functions,and establishes an operational model for academic journal leadership.[Conclusions]This study expands the theoretical research on the functional positioning of academic journals and provides references for promoting the high-level development of academic journals.
