Current situation of academic integrity of Chinese scientific journals and suggestions for improvement
[Purposes]This paper aims to analyze the current situation of academic integrity of Chinese scientific journals and clarify the key points of the construction of publishing ethics of Chinese scientific journals.[Methods]By interpreting the literature data of the online publication status changing of CNKI from 2019 to 2023,this paper analyzed the type distribution,annual trend,discipline distribution,reasons,subjects,and other factors affecting online publication status changing of journals and summarized the current situation of academic integrity of Chinese scientific journals.[Findings]The literature with changed online publication status is mainly retracted and withdrawn,and the subjects are mainly science and technology,social science,and medicine.51%of the literature with changed online publication status has misconduct in scientific research.Republication,plagiarism,and multiple submissions are the main misconducts,which are the focus of attention in the construction of publishing ethics of Chinese scientific journals.20%of the literature with changed online publication status has academic errors,and 13%has flaws that need to be corrected.It is prior to strengthening the academic quality of scientific journals.In most cases,authors are responsible for the change of online publishing status,but there are also cases of publisher or editorial errors.[Conclusions]Chinese scientific journals should promote the construction of publishing ethics by formulating scientific and reasonable publishing ethics policies,improving the academic quality of papers,strengthening the similarity detection of text and pictures,implementing the standards for paper retraction,and strengthening the training of publishing ethics and standards.
