Investigation and thinking on capacity building of scientific journal industry services in China
[Purposes]This paper aims to demonstrate the value and role of scientific journals in promoting industrial development and serving industrial progress by investigating the status and role of scientific journals in innovation-driven development.[Methods]Taking scientific journals of different industries as research objects,through literature review,site visits and interviews,case studies,and other methods,from examples,this paper explored the initiatives of industry-specific journals in orchestrating focus on industrial development,aggregating high-quality industry resources,creating distinctive columns and publications,developing journal-based think tank capabilities,and promoting innovative cooperation.This paper then summarized the inspiration of scientific journals in serving high-quality development.[Findings]Scientific journals,as integral components of China's scientific undertakings,play pivotal roles in facilitating innovation,propelling industrial growth,enhancing cross-sectoral exchanges,and advancing industry standards.They serve as critical conduits for disseminating scientific knowledge and fostering collaborative discourse.[Conclusions]It is necessary to define the positioning of scientific journals in the industrial chain,serve the decision-making and transformation,and realize the industrial value of journals,to enhance the competitiveness of China's national science and technology and cultural soft power.
