Internationalization development strategy of"making sail"of English academic journal in China
[Purposes]Based on the current situation of internationalization development of English academic journals in China,this paper provides ideas and references for the internationalization development of"making sail"of English academic journals.[Methods]Literature and Internet research were extensively conducted to systematically analyze the current situation of internationalization development of English academic journals in China,and the internationalization development strategy of"making sail"of English academic journals was proposed.[Findings]There is a serious imbalance between the output of academic papers in China and the supply of internationally influential academic journals.Academic publishing security and international academic discourse power are seriously threatened,and the economic interests of academic publishing are severely damaged.The main problems in the internationalization development of English academic journals in China are insufficient funding,outdated publishing modes,unreasonable periodical number allocation,and a lack of top-level design.[Conclusions]The thinking and understanding need to be unified,and the construction of a high-quality international digital publishing platform should be accelerated through top-level design.It is necessary to promote media convergence publishing,OA publishing,and the construction of talent teams,and speed up the establishment of high starting point English journal clusters.International digital publishing platforms need to be relied on to gather global academic resources.The internationalization development path of English academic journals needs to be explored through publishing platform sharing,decentralized publication,and centralized data operation.
