Historical evolution and enlightenment of internationalization exploration of Chinese sports academic journals
[Purposes]This study aims to systematically review the historical development of Chinese academic journals in sports and summarize their development patterns to provide insights into the internationalization of Chinese sports academic journals.[Methods]We used the literature research method to analyze and summarize data obtained from major library platforms and online platforms,combined with the indicators of academic journal internationalization.[Findings]The history of internationalization of sports academic journals in China can be divided into three stages:from the late Qing Dynasty to before the founding of New China,from the founding of New China to the beginning of the reform and opening-up,and from the beginning of the reform and opening-up to the present.These stages reflect different degrees of internationalization due to varying factors such as publication concepts,paper authors,and content.[Conclusions]The historical evolution of the internationalization of Chinese sports academic journals reveals the organic unity of internationalization and localization.The internationalization of sports academic journals needs to balance development with localization in concept and accelerate the speed of coordination.In practice,it is essential to enhance the local characteristics of Chinese sports academic journals while strengthening the multidimensional approach to internationalization.
