Overseas experiences have multiple impacts on young scientific and technological talents.Survey data within Shanghai show that young scientific and technological talents who have returned from overseas have different perceptions and expressions of national conditions than local young scientific and technological talents;they have a stronger spirit of struggle and dedication and are more accustomed to viewing and evaluating cities from a global perspective, with a greater sense of crisis awareness;their concept of career success is more in line with the dominant values, but the confidence in the future is relatively low.In terms of career development, their work motivation is less influenced by external factors;they are more favored by the unit, with higher work focus and engagement, more fully utilized abilities, and a higher success rate.Pay more attention to evaluation mechanisms and funding support;have a deeper experience of being bound by non-scientific research affairs;and look forward to stable scientific research funding projects and comprehensive intellectual property protection. In terms of life experience, their level of experience of a better life is relatively low, making it more difficult to balance work and life.Based on above survey and analysis,it is recommended to implement classified policies based on the characteristics and different demands of the returned young scientific and technological talents group to better introduce, retain, and use them.
