The full coverage prescription comment on the rational use of antibiotics in outpatient and emergency department
Objective This research observed the impact of a comprehensive review of all antibiotic prescriptions in the outpatient and emergency departments on the rational use of antibiotics in the hospital.Methods By reviewing all antibiotic prescriptions in the outpatient and emergency departments,this study compared the non-compliance rates before optimization(in 2022)and after optimization(in 2023)of the review model using a method of practical comparison before and after optimization.Count data were analyzed using the x2 test.Results Compared with the pre-optimization period,the non-compliance rate of antibiotic prescriptions in the outpatient and emergency departments further decreased.In 2023,it was significantly lower compared to 2022,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Through measures such as comprehensive prescription review,manual review combined with software review,academic communication,and administrative intervention,the non-compliance rate of antibiotic prescriptions could be significantly reduced,continuously improving the phenomenon of irrational drug use.
