A dataset of plant community dynamics in the growing season at different slope positions at the National Field Research Station at the Northern Foot of Yinshan Mountain(2019-2022)
The desert steppe at the northern foot of Yinshan Mountain has a special geographic location, severing as a transition zone between the Yinshan Mountains of China and the Mongolian Plateau,as well as a transition zone from a semi-arid zone to an arid zone climate. The region is an important ecological security barrier in the northern part of the national ecological security framework.Understanding the characteristics of plant communities in the region is of great significance for exploring the biodiversity of desert steppe, grassland productivity, and the recovery of degraded grassland. In this paper,we collated the field survey data of plant communities in different slope positions of the long-term enclosure sample site during the growing season at the National Field Research Station at the Northern Foot of Yinshan Mountain from 2019 to 2022.The dataset covers plant species composition, height, coverage, density and aboveground biomass. The collection and processing of the dataset strictly adhered to the quality control standards and specifications for grassland plant community surveys. This dataset is expected to provide a scientific basis and data support for the management and restoration of desert steppe ecosystems.
