A dataset of comprehensive background data series over the Pan-Third Pole(1980-2020)
The Pan-Third Pole,with the Tibetan Plateau as its core,plays a crucial role in the global climate system and hydrological cycle.As a result of global climate change,environmental changes in the Pan-Third Pole region have attracted widespread attention.To save the time and effort spent by scientists in obtaining and preprocessing Pan-Third Pole datasets,and to providing driving and validation datasets for Earth system models,this study integrates multi-source data of different formats and ranges,using unified standards(including projection systems,boundaries,and spatiotemporal resolutions).In this way,we produced a dataset of comprehensive background data series over the Pan-Third Pole(1980-2020),including basic geographic data,cryospheric data,hydro-atmospheric data,ecological data,disaster data,and human geographic data.In terms of data quality,all original data are carefully selected,and key datasets have been integrated to maximize the advantages of different sources,reduce information redundancy,and ensure the higher quality of the dataset.The dataset is aimed to provide important data support for scientific research and sustainable development in the Pan-Third Pole region,and promote advancements in the integration of Pan-Third Pole models(e.g.land surface process models,hydrological models,and ecological models).
