Experimental study on mineral processing of iron bearing rocks in Bayan Obo West Mine
In order to achieve the recycling and utilization of iron resources(iron bearing rocks)with a TFe grade of 13%-16%in the Bayan Obo West Mine, this paper takes the iron bearing rocks as the research object, and conducts detailed research on their ore properties using chemical analysis,X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and other detection methods.Based on this, systematic beneficiation experiments are conducted. The results show that TFe grade in the iron bearing rock is 13.14%,the main recoverable metal mineral is magnetite, and accounts for 52.28%of the total iron. The iron bearing rock needs to be crushed to-3 mm in order to obtain a coarse concentrate with TFe grade of over 20%.Through the stage crushing grading pre-selection process experiment, the tailings removal yield can be 56.01%,the TFe grade of the coarse concentrate is 20.62%,mFe grade is 14.80%,TFe recovery rate is 69.19%,and mFe recovery rate is 94.27%.The principle process of three stage crushing two-stage pre-selection high-pressure roller grinding ultra fine crushing and tail throwing is adopted as the pre-separation technology transformation plan.Under the particle size condition of-0.045 mm 85.80%,a qualified iron concentrate with TFe grade of 65.10%,relative TFe recovery rate of 50.25%,and mFe recovery rate of 93.03%can be obtained by two weak magnetic separations of the coarse concentrate. The research results provide a scientific basis for the efficient recycling and utilization of iron bearing rock.
