Based on the background of digital rural development in the information age, this paper employs the theory of empowerment to construct an explanatory analytical framework for digital technology empowerment from both procedural and outcome perspectives.Starting with the issue of the"last mile"in rural grassroots party building, this paper adopts empirical and typical case study methods, using Village D in a developed area as a case study,to analyze in detail the theoretical logic and practical path of digital technology empowerment in rural grassroots party building. The research indicates that digital technology can effectively solve the"last mile"challenges in rural grassroots party building, such as fragmentation, information asymmetry, resource scarcity, and insufficient initiative, through three empowerment modes:structure, resources, and psychology. The investigation in Village D also reveals issues arising from digital technology empowerment, including differences in information accessibility, social exclusion, digital suspension, separate platform systems, duplicative construction, and"information cocoons".With the rapid advancement of China's digital transformation, the empowerment of rural grassroots party building by digital technology is still ongoing.
