Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of SERPINH1 gene and the prognosis of patients with glioma. Methods The TCGA,GTEx,CGGA,and HPA databases were retrieved by computer, and the expression levels of SERPINH1 mRNA and protein in glioma and normal tissues were analyzed using the online tools Ualcan and GEPIA. Subsequently, the sequencing data of mRNAseq_693 and mRNAseq_325 of glioma samples and their clinical data were obtained from the CGGA database, and prognosis analysis was conducted using R software. Results Compared with normal tissues, the expression of SERPINH1 in glioma tissues was significantly upregulated;furthermore, the higher the pathological grade of glioma, the higher the expression level of SERPINH1. The expression level of SERPINH1 in glioma was closely related to IDH mutation and 1p19q deletion (P<0.05). High expression of SERPINH1 was an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in patients with glioma. Conclusion SERPINH1 is highly expressed in glioma and is associated with poor prognosis of glioma patients. This indicates that SERPINH 1 can be served as a biomarker for the prognosis of patients with glioma.
