Reliability and Validity of the Chinese Version of the Angry Aggression Scale
Objective:To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of Angry Aggression Scale(AAS)and its measurement invariance across gender in a sample of Chinese college students. Methods:A total of 894 college students in Beijing and Henan Province completed the Chinese form of AAS;The BAS/BIS scale,Brief Self-Control Scale,Heartland Forgiveness Questionnaire,Boredom Proneness Scale-Short Form,Trait Anger Questionnaire and International Personality Item Pool-Interpersonal Circumplex were also assessed as criteria. After 1 month,87 participants were retested. Results:Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the four-factor structure of Chinese AAS was well fitted(x2/df=4.171,CFI=0.920,TLI=0.907,RMSEA=0.049,SRMR=0.053).The internal consistency coefficients were 0.81~0.89,and the test-retest reli-ability were 0.60~0.77.All dimensions of the scale were significantly correlated with the corresponding criterion tools. The results of multi-group confirmatory factor analysis showed that the Chinese version of AAS had cross-gender measurement invariance. Conclusion:Chinese version of AAS has good reliability and validity in Chinese college students, and measure-ment invariance across genders.
