Measurement Invariance of the Short Grit Scale in Teenagers on Family Socioeconomic Status and Time Variables
Objective:To examine the measurement invariance of the Short Grit Scale(Grit-S)across family socioeco-nomic status(SES)and time in a sample of Chinese teenagers. Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1891 adolescents, using the Grit-S.Subsequently,618 of these students were followed up with three additional surveys at 6-month intervals. Results:Results from multiple-group confirmatory factor analyses showed that the Grit-S demonstrated configural, weak, strong, and strict measurement invariance across high and low SES groups.Additionally, the Grit-S showed configural, weak and strong measurement invariance at different time points. Conclusion:The findings suggest that the Grit-S exhibits strict measurement invariance across SES and time in Chinese teenagers.
