Objective:Based on the Internal working models of attachment and the social enhancement hypothesis, the aim of this study is to explore the relationship between paternal attachment, maternal attachment and online self-disclosure,and the mediating role of self-esteem.Methods:A total of 540 college students were investigated with an Inventory of par-ent and peer attachment(IPPA),an online self-disclosure questionnaire, and a self-esteem scale.Results:(1)The high lev-el of attachment matching between college students and their parents positively affected college students'online self-dis-closure;(2)Self-esteem played a mediating role in the relationship between the matching or unmatching of parent-child at-tachment and online self-disclosure of college students. Conclusion:When paternal and maternal form high-level match(both high)or mismatch(higher paternal attachment or higher maternal attachment),they can affect online self-disclosure through improving self-esteem.
