The Effect of Emotional Insecurity induced by parental conflict on Mindful Eating:Based on Emotional Security Theory and Stress-coping Model
Objective:To explore the relationship between emotional insecurity induced by parental conflict and mind-ful eating and its underlying mechanisms.Methods:A sample of 654 college students was recruited to complete the ques-tionnaires about emotional insecurity induced by parental conflict,negative coping style,self-control,and mindful eating.Results:①After controlling for gender,age,and grade,emotional insecurity induced by parental conflict was significantly and negatively associated with mindful eating.②Negative coping style acted as a mediator in the relationship between the two.③Self-control moderated the relationship between negative coping style and mindful eating.Specifically,the negative predictive effect of negative coping style on mindful eating was more significant in individuals with low self-control.Con-clusion:Emotional insecurity induced by parental conflict affected mindful eating through negative coping style and self-control moderated the relationship between negative coping style and mindful eating.
