Changes in Junior-High School Students'Sleep Quality in China:A Cross-Temporal Meta-Analysis
Objective:To investigate the changes in Chinese junior-high school students'sleep quality from 2000 through 2020.Methods:We collected the literature investigating junior-high school students by the Pittsburgh Sleep Qual-ity Index(PSQI)in these year through the CNKI,Wanfang and other databases.We used cross-temporal meta-analysis to explore the changes in sleep quality and its influencing factors among junior-high school students.General meta-analysis was used to examine gender difference in sleep quality.Results:A total of 92 studies were included.The total PSQI scores of junior-high school students in China increased significantly over time.The total PSQI scores of both high school and ju-nior high school students were significantly positively correlated with year.Several social indicators from economic condi-tions,educational environment,and family characteristics significantly predicted the decline in sleep quality of junior-high school students.Conclusion:Since the 21st century,there has been an overall decrease in the sleep quality of junior high school students in China.
