The Relationship Among Passive Social Network Site Use,Body Surveillance and Body Shame in Adolescents:A Cross-lagged Analysis
Objective:To analyze the relationship between passive social network site use,body surveillance and body shame of adolescents.Methods:Passive Social Network Site Use Questionnaire,Body Surveillance Scale and Body Image Shame Scale were used to follow 348 adolescents for one year.Results:(1)Cross-lagged regression analysis indicated that pre-test passive social network site use significantly predicted post-test body surveillance;pre-test body surveillance sig-nificantly predicted post-test body shame;T1 body shame significantly predicted T2 body surveillance.(2)Multiple-group analysis showed that gender differences were not significant.Conclusion:Adolescents'passive social network site use can directly predict body surveillance,and there is a reciprocal relationship between body surveillance and body shame.
