A Comparative Research of Group Intervention on Transnational Left-behind Children's Aggression in the South-East Coastal Region of China
Objective:To investigate the present situation of transnational left-behind children's aggression and to com-pare the differences between the comprehensive training and empathy training on transnational left-behind children's ag-gressive behavior. Methods:In pre-research,we conducted a questionnaire survey on 1115 primary school students to un-derstand the left-behind characteristics and aggressive behavior of children. In the formal study,47 transnational left-be-hind children were recruited to complete the intervention training including 16 participants in the comprehensive training group,16 participants in the empathy training group and 15 participants in the control group. The comprehensive training group and empathy training group carried out 7 times of group intervention, and the control group did not intervene.Re-suIts:①Compared to the non-left-behind children, the transnational left-behind children showed significantly higher scores of aggression.②After group intervention, the post-test score of the comprehensive training group for aggression was lower than the pre-test score, but no significant change in empathy was found. The post-test score of the empathy training group for empathy was higher than the pre-test score, but no significant change in aggression behavior was detected. There was no significant change in the scores of aggression and empathy in the control group. Conclusion:Further attention should be paid to the aggressive behavior of the transnational left-behind children.Comprehensive training had a more obvi-ous effect on reducing the aggressive behavior of the transnational left-behind children.
